Ingredients

  • 1 kg Beef (without fat) - cut into medium size pieces

  • 4 tablespoons QBB

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Sugar

  • 500 ml Water

  • 100 ml Evaporated milk

  • Lime juice (optional)

  • Salt to taste

Blended ingredients

  • 15 Green chillies

  • 10 Green Thai bird's eye chilli

  • 5 stalks Coriander leaf

  • 8 pips Shallots

  • 4 pips Garlic

  • 2 cm Young galangale

  • 2 cm Ginger

  • 2 stalks Lemongrass

  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seed - fry without oil

  • 1 teaspoon Coriander seed - fry without oil

  • 1 teaspoon Peppercorn

  • 1 cup Chinese boxthorn leaves

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat QBB, saute blended ingredients till fragrant and simmer.

  2. 2. Add beef and stir well with spices over a medium heat. Simmer until beef shrinks and sauce slightly thickens. Add sugar and salt to taste.

  3. 3. Add water and simmer over slow fire till meat turns tender.

  4. 4. Add milk and lime juice. Stir thoroughly.

  5. 5. Reduce heat and simmer till gravy thickens.
