Ingredients
140 gm Black split peas (A type of chick pea)
180 gm Rice grain
50 gm Cooked rice
1/2 teaspoon Fennel powder
1/2 teaspoon White cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
1 teaspoon Fenugreek seed
2 tablespoons QBB
Water
Instructions
1. Wash beans with skin and soak for 4 hours.
2. Soak rice and fennel for 4 hours.
3. After 4 hours, clean beans and separate from skin.
4. Wash rice grain twice.
5. Blend rice and cooked rice with fenugreek seed and enough water till ingredients become smooth and lump-free like pancake batter.
6. Blend peas with enough water until smooth. Adjust the thickness by adding water a little at a time. The batter should rise and expand.
7. Mix together rice and pea batter to form a pancake-like batter.
8. Let the batter ferment for 6 hours (do not over ferment as it will turn too sour).
9. After 6 hours, heat a hot plate and lightly grease with QBB.
10. Scoop up a ladleful of batter and pour it on the hot plate. Quickly spread batter into a thin pancake with the back of the ladle.
11. Flip to cook other side after about 2 minutes.
12. Lightly grease with some QBB.
